Fashion

TO WHAT DEGREE SHOULD AN IMAGE MANIPULATED TO GO INTO FASHION MAGAZINE?
Still life fashion dates back to as far as 1856 but photography wise, it came about in 1900s
Photographers would take photos of clothes on a manikin or on a model.
The photo should be idenitfied more as the clothes being eye capturing then the model. even though the model may be very beautiful. the photographer/editor can not allow the photo to be seen more as a model shot. and if it appears the model is more eye appealing then the clothes. then the photos will not be published. and maybe a re-shoot of the image would take place. maybe with a new model.
It is very important that in the picture the dress a woman is wearing captures the eye of the viewer straight away then seeing the models face straight away. the hidden message in the picture must say the this photo is advertising clothes. and is not a model photo shoot.

Sir Cecil Walter Hardy Beaton. (14th January 1904 -18th January 1980) was an English born  fashion and portrait Photographer, artist costume designer, designed clothes for films and theater productions. One of his awards was he was named the international best dressed list hall of fame in 1970.

In 1931 he was working the British edition of Vogue in 1931. Another Photographer who was french named George Hoyningen-Huene. He did photography for the french edition of Vogue. he traveled to England with his friend Horst who later that year in 1931 got himself a job working for the french edition of vogue in November. they met in the UK and worked together before George and Hurst traveled back to France.

Cecil Beaton placed himself at the center of fashionable society in the 1920s Beaton had created himself a well known legacy in fashion photography, art and the film genre

In fashion photography that dates back to 1856. even though cameras had not been invented. fashion was still popular as it is today. mainly around Europe. artists would paint a woman in a dress. or something that was fashionable around the time, around the time.

Editorial photography is similar to fashion photography. however editorial photography does not set out to sell in their photography, the photography sets out to tell the theme of the photo or a story. Setting the background to the mood of the model. say its a happy smiling theme, featuring love. everything around the model would indicate that the model is happy and in love. That would be telling a story/theme and is called editorial photography
